Paul Bley Solo Piano, SF Jazz Festival |
SF Jazz Site. Dzeli's Review: It's intensely emotional, passionate and strong with amazing lyricism and line. Free Jazz in that often he starts with a structure but improvises far far away from it into distant beautiful lands that have great clear blue skies or are the electricity of a thunderstorm about to burst. His immediacy and ability to take both the front and the back seat in collaboration are great. At the end of one of his concerts, I either feel like I'm drenched from the sweat of fits of joyous and sad sad passion or that I'm left in another galaxy, following the tail of a comet I can't quite keep up with. | |
April 4th, 111 Minna, 9pm |
