We are a residential intentional artists community with minimalist spending habits.
We are recruiting 1 - 2 magical ARTISTs and/or PERFORMERs of any age who are together and responsible, who want to focus their community by giving it space and already have strong cooperation and communication skills.
The STRUCTURES that create relationships in our group are sharing bulk food, sharing chores, cooking meals together and weekly meetings. We also actively combine our art and community by supporting each other and regular community arts gatherings. We strive to live by a triple bottom line of sustainability (financial, environmental and community).
We live in a beautiful 5 bedroom house near Lake Merritt in Oakland, California. The house is about 45 minutes from San Francisco by public transportation and is in a safe neighborhood.
There are two rooms opening up soon, one for $401 and the other for $762 (gigantic, great for a couple or roommates). The security deposit is $453. We require first month's rent, the security deposit and a credit check by the day you move in.
The house has a gigantic backyard (a small farm really), wood floors, lots of sunlight, a piano, no television, large rooms, a big living room and dining room, basement, attic, garage, 2 full bathrooms, a comfortable couch on the front porch.
Plans underway for the house are: a performance/rehearsal space (in the backyard), paint all the rooms beautiful colors, swings and an orchard and herb garden.

Dzeli: 23, a dancer, singer, director of play and passion, student of experimental performance art and life, pianist, botanist, bookkeeper, entrepreneur and logician.
Daniel: 25, a craftsperson. Works with hands on: people, food, dirt, metal, wood, plastic, paper, interiors, plants, rigging, music. Rope and monkeybar crazy. "bodily-kinesthetic" dance, work and play! Strange.
Nathan: a clown, teacher, ex-chef, house-broken and has a job. really!
Monica: 25, artist .. I make art out of whatever the art needs to be made of . sticks paint wind sound voice space plants dirt spirit rocks wood fabric paper vegetables. gardner for a living. permaculturist by life design. seeking to obtain functional balance within networks of motion, networks of life.
